Taste of Australia Culinary Competition 2018
The Culinary Competition is a highlight of the annual Taste of Australia program, providing culinary students the chance to compete for a scholarship to study culinary arts in Australia!
In 2018 this competition went national. 19 teams of culinary students in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Da Nang, Da Lat and Nha Trang competed in simultaneous heats on 17 April. Eight young Vietnamese chefs from Pegasus International College Hanoi, Hue Tourism College, Dalat Vocational School and Vung Tau Vocational College, having won their city’s heats, travelled to the Sheraton Grand Danang Resort for the final of the 2018 Taste of Australia Culinary Competition on 20 April.
After a hard-fought two rounds, judged by our local and international celebrity chefs, the team from Pegasus International College Hanoi won the major prize – an all-expenses paid trip to Sydney and two full scholarships at Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School! Also congratulations to our runners up team from Vung Tau Tourism Vocational College, who won a one-week trip to Sydney, Australia courtesy of William Blue College of Hospitality Management and the Australian Government.
